Who are we

"Phone one of us if you read this and want to know more. We love to have visitors or enquirers or new members. All ages are welcome and we have activities for children, youth and adults, Alpha courses in basic Christian faith, fun, social events and lots of links with the community. We seek to serve a needy world locally and worldwide"

St James’ Church in Upton Street, Gloucester, near St James’ School and St James’ City Farm serves the area of Barton and Tredworth. This is an inner city area where we are proud of our community of mixed culture and racial background.

Church members come from different walks of life yet share the discovery of real friendship with Jesus Christ and with each other. We meet together every week to worship the God who loves us, knowing that God is with us and hears our prayers. Building friendships, sharing our faith and caring for one another are important parts of our church life. We believe it is God’s desire for us all to unravel our problems and anxieties and find the joy of living life to the full, as we respond to Christ's touch and call to follow him.

St James’ is part of the Church of England and Diocese of Gloucester.
